The world is facing 5 global risks at the moment which could derail this pretty strong growth trajectory, Xavier Durand, Global CEO of Coface, warned in the Hong Kong Coface Country Risk Conference 2018 on 10 October.
Mainland China’s economy and global trade were the two leading themes of the agenda of the conference, with distinguished speakers including
- Zhu Haibin, Chief China Economist, JP MORGAN, highlighted on China economic policies;
- Alicia Garcia-Herrero, Chief Asia Pacific Economist, NATIXIS, focused more specifically on China’s corporates;
- Andrew Collier, Managing Director, ORIENT CAPITAL RESEARCH, highlighted the shadow banking issue;
- Billy Wong, Deputy Director of Research, HONG KONG TRADE DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (HKTDC) focused on trade war impact from a Hong Kong perspective;
- and Carlos Casanova, our Senior Asia Pacific Economist detailed our views on the whole region.
